Drugs - Chapters 1 - 5
Did we want to break this book up into three sections and then discuss as we read? I can make two more posts and those eager beavers can begin posting comments as they desire.
I finished Ch. 1 on Friday night and had a dream that all my Rock Band buddies and I were eating acid on hot dog buns. "How many did you have?" "I had three, is that too many?"
I also finished that part and here is what I found interesting enough to highlight.
"A global survey released in 2008 found that Americans are more than twice as likely to smoke pot than Europeans." - I guess this seems likely enough, but honestly, I wouldn't have put money on this statistic, I would have thought it was the other way around. Weird.
I also found the part where they were talking about speed/Ritalin interesting, as I have interesting feelings about ADD/ADHD/Ritalin debacle. I like the sentence in the book, "Speed is acceptable as long as it boosts a kid's attention span and isn't just a good time."
EVEN MORE FUNNY IS THE SENTENCE THAT COMES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT ONE! "Euphoria is listed as a negative side effect of pharmaceutical drugs."
